The Zombie Rig is a universal support system for boom operators that redistributes weight and improves flexibility when mixing sound levels on the fly.
The design is based around a central support mast that can be attached to a variety of sound mixer bags via a baby pin receiver. This allows the system to be attached not only to mixer bags, but also to third party support vests or even C-stands for extended use.
The included brackets can be easily adapted to a variety of boom models by using shims of different sizes, ensuring seamless compatibility with different brands.
The most important part of the design is the control bracket, which attaches to the rear end of the boom and allows for easy adjustment of the microphone direction. The user can then attach a counter-rotating bracket to perfectly balance the length of the boom, while easily maneuvering the boom vertically and rotating it up to 360°. This allows for effortless operation and relieves the operator's hands of the burden of the boom, providing opportunities for mixing audio levels while operating the boom microphone.
Thanks to its modular design, the Tilta Zombie Rig System can be efficiently disassembled and stored and requires less than 1 meter in length. A carrying bag for easy transport is included.
