This Pro Kit for the Sony FX3 camera provides protection for the camera body and includes relevant accessories to enhance the functionality of the Sony FX3 in a video production environment.
The full cage has several 1/4"-20 threads with various fixing pins, two cold shoe connectors, a NATO rail for the Wooden/Advanced Side Handles from Tilta and a rod attachment port for the Tilta Single Rod Holders.
The left side arm module can be removed to convert the full cage into a half cage, providing greater flexibility when disassembling the camera in situations where weight is a concern, such as when mounting the system to a gimbal.
The cage's base plate also offers multiple mounting points for attaching your camera to various quick release plates and is compatible with the DJI RS 2 mounting plate's ARCA receiver. The included quick release plate can be attached to the bottom of the cage to connect the system to the 15mm LWS Base Plate Type IV. The 15mm LWS Base Plate adds a 15mm rod mount to the system and allows the mounting of rod-based accessories such as matte boxes and follow focus systems.
The bottom of the base plate connects natively to Tilta standard dovetails and also supports various quick release plates via 1/4″-20 and 3/8″-16 threads.
The included rotating top handle attaches to the cold shoe connector on the top mounting plate and can be adjusted to be used as a side handle when shooting vertically. The top mounting plate also serves as a NATO rail for side handles that can be mounted on top of the camera when shooting vertically. The top mounting plate can also be removed independently of the other cage components, so you can easily mount the FX3's original XLR handgrip if required.
The included Advanced Power Handle is attached to the left side of the cage via a NATO rail connection. This handle has a 12V Micro DC port (3.5/1.35 mm) and an 8V USB-C port for powering your camera or other accessories such as the Nucleus Nano Wireless Lens Control System from Tilta.
The handle is also able to control Run Stop via a supplied Run Stop cable. The flexible mounting of the handle and the additional wrist strap enable comfortable and flexible operation of your camera system when shooting handheld.
The HDMI clamp attaches to the side of the cage and allows you to securely attach the included HDMI cable to your system. This clamp prevents your HDMI cable from coming loose during recording and protects the connection to your camera body. This can be especially helpful if you are using an external recorder.
