The Blackmagic PYXIS 6K Base Kit lets you maximize the potential of your PYXIS 6K. It provides protection for the camera body and includes accessories that expand the functionality of the PYXIS 6K in a video production environment.
The modular design with versatile components allows for customization to your needs. The cage features multiple contact points to prevent slipping. The cage offers the following mounting options: Arri rosette, NATO rail, cold shoe, 1/4"-20, and 3/8"-16 threads, both with mounting points.
The side plate supports quick switching between horizontal and vertical setups, as it can be used as a base plate when mounted vertically, providing sufficient space between the rods and the lens for most accessories. In this vertical configuration, the base plate features specially positioned threads to align the base plate with the optical center of the lens.
The side plate can accommodate SSDs with a width of 52 mm to 60 mm and a thickness of less than 12 mm. It also features several 1/4"-20 and 3/8"-16 threads for various accessories.
Both the top and bottom plates are designed to avoid contact with the housing's heat dissipation vents, thus ensuring the camera's cooling performance is not compromised. The top plate is compatible with the original PYXIS top handle and also features a removable adapter with a 3/8" to 1/4" thread, allowing the user to choose between different top handles.
The Xeno Top Handle connects to the top plate via a NATO rail. It improves handling and versatility with a sleek design and more flexibility. This handle offers multiple mounting options for additional accessories, including a 1/4"-20 thread and a cold shoe connector, ideal for mounting an external monitor.
Also included is the Xeno Side Handle, which can be attached to the left or right side of the cage via a NATO connector. With an adjustable height of 40 mm, the user can adjust the handle to their preferred position, improving comfort over extended periods.
The handle is made of non-slip silicone with a textured grip, which increases stability and ensures a secure hold. Mounting points such as a cold shoe mount and a 1/4"-20 thread with attachment points for additional accessories complete the handle.
