The Tilta Hydra Alien Car Mounting System was designed for the use of smaller gimbals to create cinematic quality shots with a comparatively low budget.
The system uses a highly customizable combination of dovetail plates and suction cups, each capable of supporting a payload of 50kg. High-elastic, shock-absorbing silicone provides greater durability and less abrasion, while the updated suction cup pistons provide a stronger seal for greater safety in colder weather.
When the system is connected, users can fine-tune the exact placement of their shot to achieve almost any possible angle when mounting on a vehicle.
The system also features a shock absorbing arm to better stabilize the camera during certain shots, as well as a spring-loaded cradle head when the intended shot requires the gimbal to be turned upside down. The hydraulic damping rod further stabilizes the arm for better results in less than optimal driving conditions.
The Hydra Alien supports full wireless control of the RS 2, RS 3 Pro and RS 4 Pro via the optional Remote Control Kit, which allows you to control your gimbal's settings as well as your camera's recording and photo functions via either a wired or wireless connection. It also includes a thumbstick that allows you to control the pan and tilt of your gimbal for maximum precision in operation.
High, low, on the side, or on the roof - with the Hydra Alien Car Mounting System you can configure almost any shot on the car. Let your imagination run wild.
Important: This system is compatible with any gimbal that can be attached with 1/4″-20 screws and powered via P-Tap.
Tilta advises against using the suction cups on vehicles with foil, as direct sunlight and heat can cause suction problems.
The RS 3 gimbal is not compatible with the Power Supple Baseplate safety mount.
