The Canon R5C Basic Kit lets you get the most out of your R5C. It provides protection for the camera body and includes useful accessories to enhance the functionality of the Canon R5C in a video production environment.
The Basic Kit offers many options for mounting various accessories, such as 1/4″-20 and 3/8″-16 threads with different attachment points, several cold shoe connectors, an ARRI rosette connector, NATO rails for top and side handles and attachment points for the optional Tilta Single Rod Holders.
The cage attaches to the camera body via a 1/4"-20 screw and features an additional contact pin to prevent the camera from slipping within the cage. The built-in silicone pads hold the camera body in place and protect it from scratches that could be caused by the cage.
The included clamp attachment attaches to the side of the cage and allows for the optional HDMI to Micro HDMI adapter and an optional USB-C cable to be attached. This prevents these cables from coming loose during recording and provides additional protection for the connectors.
The included Quick Release Top Handle can be attached to the top of the cage, providing a convenient way to handle the camera and capture low-angle shots. The top handle features multiple cold shoe mounts and 1/4"-20 and 3/8"-16 mounting points for attaching external monitors or other accessories. A horizontal 15 mm rod mount is integrated into the handle to enable various mounting options, such as attaching an EVF or external monitor.
In addition, the base plate offers multiple mounting options for various quick release plates and supports the Tilta Smart V Mount Battery Baseplate and the LWS Baseplate Type IV as standard.
The bottom plate of the cage provides full access to the battery compartment and also includes a slot for the included magnetic screwdriver.
The included lens mount attaches to the front of the cage and provides additional support for an RF-to-EF lens adapter. This creates an additional contact point between the cage and the lens adapter, contributing to a more secure connection and limiting image shift that can be caused by follow focus systems.
