The Blackmagic Cinema Camera 6K Advanced Kit helps you maximize the potential of your BMCC 6K. It provides protection for the camera body and includes accessories that extend the functionality of the BMCC 6K in a video production or photo environment.
This updated version features a top plate that aligns perfectly with the 1/4″-20 thread on the top of the camera body, while it features a two-screw connection on the bottom that provides incredibly secure three-point contact.
The cage features multiple 1/4´´-20 threads with locking pins, cold shoe connectors, an ARRI compatible rosette and a NATO rail, while being impressively modular as the right arm module can be removed to create a half cage.
The base plate provides multiple 1/4″-20 mounting points for attaching the camera to various quick release plates and is compatible with the DJI RS3 Pro’s ARCA receiver. When only the Half Cage is used, the base plate can be extended to support the Black Magic Design Battery Grip and includes a 15mm rod mount to use rod accessories in the correct LWS alignment with the Battery Grip. When the Battery Grip is not in use, the included 15mm LWS Baseplate Type VI can be mounted to the cage, providing an additional 15mm rod holder and allowing the user to mount rod-based accessories such as matte boxes and follow focus systems.
The bottom of this base plate is connected to the Tilta dovetails and accommodates various quick release plates with 1/4″-20 and 3/8″-16 threads.
The Advanced Kit includes an Advanced Power Handle (battery not included) that attaches to a NATO rail on the left side of the cage and features a 12V micro DC port (3.5/1.35mm) and an 8V USB-C port for powering the camera or other accessories.
The handle can also be used to control the run stop of the BMCC 6K via an included run stop cable, while the rotatability of the handle allows for flexible handling during handheld shooting.
The included Xeno Top Handle is attached to the cage with a 1/4″-20 screw with locking pins and features a silicone-padded handle that makes handling more comfortable and offers numerous attachment points for additional accessories such as a cold shoe connection, 1/4″-20 and 3/8″-16 threads.
The included 90 degree HDMI adapter attaches to the cage near the HDMI port and provides a secure connection that limits wear and tear on the port. The kit also includes an SSD drive mount that attaches with a 1/4″-20 screw and locating pin and allows the user to mount a Samsung T5 SSD drive for external recording.
The BMD EVF does not fully protrude from the top plate of the cage. Please proceed with caution to avoid damaging the EVF.
